A few years ago, I wanted to purchase some bee’s wax polish for furniture – years of UV exposure had made some pieces dry and dull. The problem was I couldn’t find a product locally that I liked. It had to be affordable and as natural as possible, after all it would be making contact with my skin. Eventually I settled on a product I found on the internet and it was ok, but still expensive and, it came all the way from Malaysia. There had to be a better way.

The problem was that she couldn’t find a product locally that she liked. It had to be affordable and as natural as possible, after all it would be making contact with her skin. Eventually she settled on a product found on the internet and it was ok, but still expensive and, it came all the way from Malaysia. There had to be a better way.
The primary ingredient for good polish is high quality bee’s wax. Here in West Cork we are blessed with many beekeepers, and the local industry provides a wealth of honey. Having realised the answer to the problem was right here, she began researching and testing formulas, then giving tubs of polish as gifts to friends. The response was overwhelmingly positive and she began to get requests for more. Then someone asked about a product for leather, and so it began. Bee’s Knees Wood Polish and Leather Conditioner went to market.
Clean & Feed was developed next in response to requests for a liquid polish. Nourishing orange oil is the key ingredient to make this a fabulous cleaner and polish for many types of wood, but especially untreated or traditionally oiled woods like cutting boards and teak.
